People have difficulty speaking up at work. Does this describe you? If so, this is affecting your job performance, your work relationships, and the possibility of being promoted. It's time to speak up and be noticed.
We start the course by gaining the skills to speak up assertively to your co-workers and boss. If you're so passive that you accept work that others give you to the point that you're overloaded or you can't explain to your boss an issue you're having with your work, your job will suffer. Now, as you've probably experienced, some workplaces reward assertiveness, and others punish assertiveness, so it's better to observe for a time before you use your assertiveness skills. I teach you how to gauge yourself so you don't overstep, but you do speak up when it's time.
Have you ever been in a meeting where you had a great idea, but you didn't say it out loud, and then someone else says the same idea and is congratulated for it? How frustrating is that! It's very important to speak up in meetings because this is how you show others your leadership qualities. Even if you don't say the most brilliant thing, just speaking up and expressing your ideas and opinions will help you be seen as management material.
Many studies have shown that public speaking is the #1 fear of most people. In this course, you'll learn the in's and out's of making a dynamic presentation at work. This is another way that management identifies leaders in the company, so mastering this skill is also important for your advancement.
If you're already a leader in your company or organization, building positive relationships is key. As a leader or supervisor, you have a great impact on employees. You'll learn exactly how to make those relationships with your staff, so they work better and enjoy having you as their supervisor.
Finally, helping your staff and co-workers increase their skills in being self-confident is a win-win situation for everyone - you, your co-workers, your staff, and your company or organization. Self-confidence adds to a person's effectiveness and speaking to the people you work with, in such a way that you enhance their ability in this vital area will encourage their growth and their respect for you.
With each section, you will receive at least one exercise to complete in order to incorporate what you've learned into your own life. I suggest that you write the exercises in a notebook to help you work through the principles I'm teaching so you can see where you are and how to apply them to your life and daily interactions with others.
All of my courses contain guided visualizations and songs throughout. They are downloadable, so you will always have them to enjoy and grow with.
