One of the things many teams don't do enough of is celebrating success. They focus on what hasn't been done, what's still outstanding, where we're struggling, where we failed or where we get get it wrong. This can be exhausting and draining. Now, of course, we need to pay attention to those things, we can't avoid them. But we also need to pay attention to things that have gone well that have been successful. So isn't just fluffy stuff.
Appreciation is necessary for good brain functioning and thinking it's a physiological fact. So the best teams I know start their team meetings with success stories, the best team leaders take time to personally thank individuals. Of course, this has to be genuine and real. Feeling appreciated makes all the difference in the world to team morale and productivity. It's not rocket science is it? So if you do nothing else at all, start by celebrating success.
Trust me This small thing will make such a big difference to your team. Here's to your success.
