So now we're at the point where we're ready to present. So you are the teacher, I've made this a live lesson. Okay? So now you're advancing this. So this is not going to move until you do that. Okay?
So you can leave this on the screen. So students come in, and then you're advancing this as you need to. Okay, so would you like to play this video? So now when you add a video, what this does is it's asking you if you want to play it on this device only, or on all devices, because you made the C teacher led lesson. It realizes that if all the students are playing this video at the same time, unless they have headsets, it's kind of be kind of loud and confusing. So it's asking you, even though you put this video in here, and you are having this as a student led, or I'm sorry, a teacher led activity, would you like to make it so that you only going to see this video on the smart board so A lot of times, that is a good idea depending on the lesson what you're doing.
So I'm going to say yes, we want to have this only on this device. And then this at this point, you would play the video up on the smartboard for the students, or if students did have headsets and you wanted them to play it at their desk, that's fine. For now, I'm just gonna move on. Here's that website, maybe you want to give them some time to look at that. Maybe you're discussing it, whatever you're going to do with it. And now here's that activity.
Now, because again, this is a teacher led activity or presentation, you are deciding how long you're giving the students for this. So when you advance the slide, the students can no longer go back. So you would kind of monitor how long you're giving them. Warn them you know when you're moving on so that you can see if they will answer this or not. Now, you can get a transcript later on. So if you have to agree them on this, if you want to use this for a grade, you don't have to worry about trying to grab this right now, you can actually end this presentation, and then go back into Nearpod.
And get the transcripts of all these answers so that if you want to use this for a grade, you can and I'll show you where that is. For now we're going to move on. So you would leave this up there for as long as you're giving them to complete this activity. And then once you move on, they can no longer complete this activity. Same with this screen. So now you gave them this poll.
So now for as long as this is on the screen, you're giving them this to work on. Now this is something that if you are projecting this on the smartboard, they can see this. So if you don't want them to see it like in this previous one, it's going to say their name. So while they're working on this activity, you may want to hide the smartboard or turn it off because each of them Gonna see each other's answer. And they may wait and just copy each other's answer. So for something like this, you don't necessarily want to project the answers.
Okay, down here, you notice it says hide student names. So you can do that. So you may not see them. But in this case, I don't think you want to see any answers at all. Right? So in this case, I would just turn off the screen, or block the screen.
Here for the poll. This is where it's a good idea to hide student names so that when you're taking a poll or asking their opinion, if they don't want to know who they are by the name, then you can hide the name so that they won't know who is answering which answer. Okay, and this is the end of this presentation. So there's no more slides. So if we click here, it'll take us out. It's as if we want to leave the session do and that ends our session that you have with the students.
If you wanted to have them. Go through it. on their own at their own pace so that they could take more time to answer those questions. Then you would do student paced and then at that point they are progressing each fly
