Create abstract art using the first prompt in the mark-making series. The class will review the four elements of mark-making and the “Waves on the Seashore Model”. Using whatever media and supplies you have on hand, the class will review techniques to layer marks to create an abstract image. The class demonstration uses watercolor, but acrylics, collage, markers, or combined media can be used to follow the technique.
We’ll touch on art concepts such as color theory, balance, and repetitive shapes. Class downloads include a class supply list, a course overview, a mark-making reference sheet, and abstract art prompt 1. Choose your media, gather your supplies, and start your abstract piece. Follow the prompt and the four “challenges” to create your piece. Select the shapes, marks, and patterns to create your artwork.
You should have watercolor, acrylics, markers, etc to complete this course.
