At any time you are inspired to write your own song (or song fragment) please document it. The easiest way is to record it on your phone.  Feel free to share with me and I can give comments.  Please note I would only give comments on structural/theoretical aspects, as songwriting is very subjective and as they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

• Lesson 6: Pick any note on the keyboard and write a major and minor scale using the tone/semi-tone method
• Lesson 10: name and find any interval on the piano/guitar up to one octave apart.
• Lesson 16: pick any note and build a major/minor/dominant/diminished and minor 7 chord by using the step counting method
• Lesson 22: Write your own I - IV -V progression using different various talked about in the lessons
• Lesson 28: Write your own 4 and 8 bar progressions using any of the chords from the minor or major scale (chord tones)
• Lesson 33: play and sing along with the different variations of “POP” chord progressions
• Lesson 38: Try writing your own melodies using a combination of short and large intervals
• Lesson 42: Listen to songs you like and name the different sections of the song and make your own “song structure chart”
