Out there in the construction field and in the office. Administrative workers are hourly employees, they know that and are there for the job. However, where the work is taking place, everybody has a key role in what they are doing. A lot of time I’ve noticed over the years is the workers out there show up with an entitlement attitude meaning you should be grateful that I’m never working hard for you. Because of public employee’s rights, employees can exploit this and prevent themselves from being fired. It’s hard to find a team of workers and employees that care and understand each other. Most employees at all levels only work for themselves and do not care about others. This chapter is about creating accountability for everyone’s tasks and duties so people are focused on quality instead of minimum. This shows people that you believe in your work and care about them. Eventually, appreciation will kick in and acknowledgment from others involved and then people will care about you too. To succeed, we must first care for others in terms they care about us. This is true in a personal and professional environment. When you stop caring about others you get left behind and everyone falls into the survival fixed mindset. That is what creates the low bidder environment. When everyone cares for each other standards raise, projects get better and everybody wins. All people need each other to grow and only with the proper accountability can people work and align their goals together to work as one instead of separately.
