Flams and single paradiddles are specific sticking patterns known as drum rudiments. This class demonstrates creative ways of applying these commonly used rudiments to the drum set.
Drum rudiments are an integral part of drumming and should be in every drummer's repertoire. Both the flams and single paradiddles are used in all styles of music and can be applied to the drumset in many different forms. Flams are a combination of two notes consisting of a "grace note" (soft note) and a "main note" (louder note) played closely together to create a one-syllable sound. The single paradiddle is a combination of a pair of alternating strokes followed by a pair of double strokes (RLRR LRLL). The exercises in this class demonstrate a number of different ways to apply these very popular drum rudiments to the drumset. This class is aimed at all skill levels with the main goal of developing skill and creativity while having fun learning the rudiments.
You should have a desire to have drumming fun and make sure to say the sticking patterns out loud for the best results.
