The Curriculum Manager must examine all project documents and agreements, such as the curriculum project charter and any WBS, to ensure that they are complete. The CM ensures that:
1. The client is given a project summary; the deliverable is accepted, and client feedback is gathered.
2. All project commitments and objectives have been met. The customer and all stakeholders must sign any documents that require signatures.
3. Internal financials are completed, as well as any external stakeholders or resources who have been contracted and must be paid.
4. Everything has been backed up.
5. Completing these items isn't just "Housekeeping," but a necessary step in producing quality documentation for future initiatives.
Lesson Learned
Conduct a project team lesson-learning session. It's time to reflect on the project experience of the team. The CM must bring together the core project team members and convene a meeting to collect and document "lessons learned" from them. The goal is to reflect on what transpired during the project and to identify actions for future improvement. The simple act of sharing what went well and what could have been better leaves an impression on each project team member that they can use for their upcoming initiatives. Involving internal stakeholders, such as the sponsor or client, might be useful. Here is a simple example of what an online lesson learned chart could
be, showing the three categories for the team to individually contribute to:
What went well?
What needs improvement?
What actions can be taken?
Celebrate
Now is the time to celebrate and praise what you have done with the project.
