Let's get started. Module One, testing. Testing is defined as taking measures to check the quality, performance or reliability of something, especially before putting it into writes for you So practice as you will see as we move forward in the course, that software testing is similar to testing in general. Here I have a five minute exercise for you. What I would love for you to do is find a pencil and a piece of paper. And this exercise, I want you to think about an item, something like a product or service, or something that you would like to purchase in the near future, or something that you recently purchased.
Next lifts Three requirements are features that you would like for that product or service to have. So take for example, you would like to purchase a new smartphone. And one of the key features that you would like for that smartphone to have is the ability to take pictures. So think about how would you test that new cell phone or the new smartphone now to ensure that it has a camera. Then finally, lists three features, excuse me, family, whatever like for you to do is think about how you would test each feature out. So again, the example that I gave you with the the cell phone or the new smartphone, you one of your key features is that you want it to make sure that that phone had the capabilities of taking pictures and So think about how you would test that phone out to ensure that the phone can take pictures.
One simple way to do it is actually take the phone itself and take a picture. So it takes about five minutes, jot down an item or service is something that you would like to purchase in the future, or something that you recently purchased, list at least three requirements that you would like for that product or service to have. And think about how you would test each feature out. And for this exercise, just think of one way that you would test each feature out once you're done with this exercise, if you could keep it handy. And as you will see as we move forward into the course, that software testing is quite similar to just testing in general. Thank you
