Driftwood looks so dramatic that I cannot help but want to experiment with it. Find a piece that has flat surfaces, so that it's easy for you to write on. I really recommend that you use a pointed nip for this, because the tines might get caught in the wood fibers. So we will use paint pens for this. Because wood is porous, especially if there is no surface treatment, you're unlikely going to be able to take off the ink after you have drawn on this. So mistakes are fatal.
Kidding, there is never a mistake that we cannot recover from if you choose to. So if let's say you're using a solvent to take off the paint, if you made a mistake, there's still going to be some traces of the ink. So what you can do is you can take sandpaper and you can send off the paint and it will be as good as new if you need to reuse your food.
