Right now we have our image over the black background of the composition. I'm going to import the video that will work as a mask object. So I'm going to drop the video below the layer of the image. And then I want to make sure that these control, expand or collapse the transfer controls pane that is in the bottom at the bottom of the timeline. If it's checked, and it's blue, you can see this track map option over the video layer that is below, so right now says none. But if you click you'll see that we have four options.
So the options basically are To use the mat in different ways, so the standard ultimate just takes this layer and use it as a mask to hide or show. If I use some verdant different pixels of the video that just black or white, positive or negative, you don't have any grazer. So if you choose Luma matte, you'll see that the image is blending with the video, which is the effect that we want. If I choose no my inverted see it's the negative of the image. Right now this is the option that I want to use. So I'm going to check it and you can preview your video.
The last versions of After Effects by pressing the space Far, it takes a while to render that. You'll see soon that the video starts to move. And it's masked around, I mean, within the shape of the image. You can see here that I already created two other versions on two other portraits that I want to merge at the end in a final calm. So this is merging is blending the image with the cloud finish. And the other one it's blending with the forest finish.
So you can create a lot of facts with different kind of videos and you can even use some Color Correction filters to alter the color of layers. So there are endless possibilities.
