We all want to be successful—whatever our definition of success is. There is something about success that causes us to pay attention, excites us, and challenges us to dare the impossible. But alas, many people find out that success doesn’t answer to desire. If desire alone is the secret of success, we will all be successful.
So, what does success respond to if success doesn’t answer to desires and wishes? Simply, principles. Success is the result of following time-tested and universal principles. Principles are the seeds of success. And perhaps the most important principle of success is goal setting. It is one of the most fundamental principles of success. Earl Nightingale writes, “Success is really nothing more than the progressive realization of a worthy ideal.” Sales trainer Tom Hopkins says, “Goals are the fuel in the furnace of achievement.”
