CTI Training prepares providers to deliver effective, evidence-based care coordination to vulnerable individuals in transition. Critical Time Intervention is adaptable and can be applied to populations exiting homelessness, incarceration, psychiatric hospitals, foster care, and other settings. The Basic Training includes content on the principles, tasks, implementation, delivery, supervision, and evaluation of Critical Time Intervention. The training addresses special topics such as racial equity and inclusion, the challenge of providing services in under-resourced and rural areas, and the context of limited access to health care and affordable housing.

Live online training is recommended for provider groups aiming to implement CTI for the first time or for staff refresher training. Since this training is open to all, it will be generalized somewhat, but Dr. Hanesworth will take note of who is attending and orient the content toward the needs of specific provider settings, including those working in permanent supportive housing (PSH), rapid rehousing (RRH), street outreach, diversion, justice involved individuals, people exiting hospitals, people experiencing addiction and/or mental illness.

The live training includes:

  • PowerPoint presentation (all slides can be downloaded by participants)
  • Small group breakout sessions, dialogue, and Q and A.
  • Case studies from various provider contexts are used to illustrate principles and methods.
  • Digital copies of the CTI Manual as well as the CTI Provider Tool Kit containing all supporting documents in write-able PDF and Word doc format, including process notes, closing notes, phase plans, phase date forms, the caseload tracker, and team supervision forms.
  • Certificates verifying completion of CTI training, endorsed by the Center for the Advancement of Critical Time Intervention at Hunter College/Silberman School of Social Work at the City University of New York.

PLEASE NOTE: Materials will be sent out at least 24 hours to all registered participants by email. If someone else is registering for you, they will need to put YOUR name and email in the registration so that you can receive materials, or otherwise forward them to you. I can also get your correct email on day on of the course.
