#SamTheTutor's SAT is all about being able to understand the SAT and how to outsmart to score higher.
What is the SAT?
The SAT stands for Scholastic Aptitude Test. It’s issued by the CollegeBoard and is an option for students to stay competitive above others and to continue on the path to success.
Who takes the SAT?
It’s a national exam taken by high school students in grade levels 10th, 11th and 12th. Students submit their scores to get into college, top ranked universities and can earn the best scholarships (FREE COLLEGE ADMISSIONS!)
​What is tested on the SAT?
Math, Reading and Writing
Section 1 – Reading (basic ability to decipher what other people have accomplished and show you a path to success.)
65 minutes, 52 questions
Section 2 – Writing (express your thoughts, emotions and dreams; and to motivate others to follow you. Transition from a follower to a leader)
35 minutes, 44 questions
Section 3 and 4 – Math (it’s the language of the future. It powers the next generation)
Section 3 (25 minutes, 20 questions) and Section 4 (55 minutes, 38 questions)
Total time length for the test: 180 minutes (3 hours) Total number of questions: 154 questions
Is the SAT for me?
FlipSetter Academy encourages all students to take the SAT because it's a Think-Outside-The-Box type of test where your aptitude is challenged and it's an excellent practice that raises awareness for:

- Higher Education
This is why it's called the Scholastic "Aptitude" Test and is a great way to be exposed to, and to be aware that your Aptitude will always be challenged.

What's provided?
This is a progressive course in which we strongly encourage students to ask questions, participate with each other and be consistent with lessons. What's provided:
- Lecture series (all topics, concepts, and methods will be covered) - students take notes and solve problems during class
***Bootcamp for math, reading, and writing to cover all topics
- Homework assignments (Weekly homework assignments are issued at the end of each week to reflect what was learned in the week). Students are welcome to connect online or in-person to work together
- Score Improvement Rubric (A before and after record of how you can track your progress and see your score improve after each test)
- Guided lessons (academic calendar with topics covered and assignments based on concepts)
- Mentoring on Collegeboard, navigation and when to register for the actual exams chronologically with our academic calendar
- Homework review
- Practice tests (total of 22 practice tests with a thorough walkthrough)
- Setting up on Common App (after SAT training) for colleges and scholarship essays
Can I come back to the program to help other students?
We get this question asked a lot. The answer is yes! Students who finish and score on the SAT (average SAT score is 1400+), students can be eligible to help new students and earn volunteering hours to add to their high school resumes, and qualify for excellent scholarship opportunities! We are partnered with UNIGO.

Required materials:
Having an active FlipSetter subscription and an XP Pen set will do the following:
- This becomes your new paper (notebook paper and graph paper), pencil and pen set. You can further use this software physically when you're back in school with your classmates which is what all of our other students do. The mobile app coming soon, so it's currently computer-based.
Students will create family group accounts where you can download all of the SAT class notes documents and contents to re-upload them to your family groups where everything can be in one place in our own file folder storage. Families can further interact with the students to stay updated on progress, homework and score reports. FlipSetter is a family-based software, and you can further create groups with your other classmates and friends to share notes.
