To finish up our painting, I just want to add some detail work. So I'm going to mix my color with my number three brush. Gonna put a little on my palette here, little water, and I'm going to take some Sepi it's just a darker brown, you can use the same brown, you have the vandyke if you'd like. And I'm going to take a little vermillion hue just to warm that up a bit. And mix that in. It's still a brown pretty dark and a little more.

And I'm going to switch to my smallest brush. This is a five over zero. Next week, this one's a 12 overs arrow even smaller than I thought. And so I'm going to go in there pick up my pigment, maybe a little more Sepi so it's nice and dark. And I'm going to start here in the left, turn my paper to the side and from the end of the carrot. I'm just going to pull in some little lines here.

I want to make sure that where I'm starting to pull it in from starts all the way At the carrot, and it just works towards the center doesn't have to be towards the center. The key is to make these lines as thin as you can and have little clusters of them. And then right at the top, I like to add a few more. And then I'll just go around and do that and I'm kind of following a rounded line, not a straight line across the carrot, just trying to emphasize how it's a cylinder. So I start at the end and I pull it in, and it kind of goes down and then it comes up a little. And that's the arc.

Doing this all in one side first and then I'll put my paper over and do it on the other side as well. And on the carrots that are in the back, I'm going to just do it very lightly. So I'll start here. Just pull that color and then in the areas where the carrot is behind the other carrot, just gonna pull a little bit of a color Little bit of a line. And I'll continue this with all my carrots shouldn't all be uniform so don't try and space them out exactly. quarter inch apart or whatever just ran try to make them as random as you can.

So sometimes three, sometimes one, sometimes a dotted line would work. just pulling them out and going right to the edge to there's a little bit fewer carats of those lines towards the new growth. But occasionally, there's still some. Then with my pigment, I'm going to go in there just create a few dots very random. Don't want them to be polka dots, just little dots in dense on the carat and between the dots that we add in the white We have showing it's a very effective look somewhat abstract, but yet it captures the essence of a carrot. And now I'm gonna flip my paper over and I'm going to add some lines on the other side fewer.

Again, I want to make the carrots look heavier on the left hand side where I'm added the dark pigment. And again, I'll add just a few dots as well. Can we add a few fix swatches if you'd like. Just a few blemishes on the carrots. The key is to go right from the edge of the carrot inward. And now that I have that done, I really like how that looks.

I'm going to take a little of this brand And I'm just going to create a few little greenery, but with brown, just a few little pieces here and there. I think it unifies the piece. The key is to start right at the base here, we added our little brown, you don't want a little gap between that area and the carrot. I'll do that on all of them. And there we have our carrots. In the next chapter, we'll do a class wrap up and I'll show you some variations including the bonus template.
