Hey maestro wannabe, well done you’re one step closer to the crowds chanting your name.

In the last episode, you learned about the importance of the preparation phase and all the little extras that will make you stand out from the rest. Remember if you do 10% more than everyone else, you’ll stand out 100% more than the others who wallow in the sea of sameness.

Now that we have wet your appetite and taken you through each of the steps that need to be followed in the preparation phase, such as preparing your background, designing visually appealing meeting request headers, and researching your attendees, let’s move on to Episode 2.

In this ‘meaty’ episode we are going over the do’s and don’ts of virtual meetings. It’s a pretty lengthy chapter that is packed with a punch. Stay alert, stay alive and remember maestro status takes time.

By the end of this chapter, you will know how to establish the rules of engagement, which means fewer people talking over each other, fewer know-it-alls monopolizing the whole meeting, and a far more effective meeting.

Not only that, you will learn how to deal with international clients; how not to embarrass yourself through mismanaged screen sharing, and why it’s a necessity to avoid multitasking during meetings.

So keep an eye out for the following points:

  • Rules of engagement
  • Standardized timing for virtual meetings
  • How to interact on teleconferences
  • How to manage your microphone
  • Lighting in the room and placement of yourself on screen
  • Screen sharing and multitasking

All this and more in this exciting episode.

Just a warning, it’s a little lengthier than any of the other chapters, my only piece of advice, have patience and when you think of stopping, push through and I promise you won’t have to do anything like this again. Dig deep, don’t quit, have grit.
