Jolly Phonics, though very useful and result oriented, demands bits of sacrifice, both in teaching and learning from all the concerned parties- pupils, teachers, and parents as well.

However, the demands start with the most important pillar of the whole project - The teacher

  • The teacher must be well grounded in the knowledge of phonics, just as she must be self-confident to command the respect and confidence of her pupils.
  • She must be versatile, creative, and innovative in her teaching, especially in forming storylines, which are required at the early stage of learning.
  • She must be very friendly and highly patient with the kids while teaching. This has become necessary as we have different learners with different levels of intelligence and all (intelligent, average, and below-average learners) must be accommodated in the learning process.
