In this course you have 100 lessons about every aspect of tour guiding, managing, leading, supervising, and directing. Don’t panic the lessons are very short this tour guide course is divided into 5 modules. You will be tested on each module.
How the course is set out?
There are 5 modules, each containing between 7 and 30 lessons. Each lesson has one or more ‘self-test’ questions. Try to answer these from memory after reading each lesson then look at the answers, which can be found at the end of the lesson. When you have completed each module, you can take the end of the module test.
You cannot take the test until you have completed the modules, but you can take the test as many times as you want. The idea is to have you be successful, no matter how long it takes. When you have passed all 5 ends of the module tests competently, you will find instructions for printing your tour guide certificate, which we recommend taking it to interviews as a part of your cv.
How to study this course?
You can study the modules in any order you choose, but I recommend that you follow the order in which they appear above, as your knowledge will build up logically.
Questions will be multiple choice and marked by computer. There are 12 questions for each module, with a choice of 4 answers for each. Only one answer is correct. You can retake the test as often as you need until you pass.
Your course has been designed for ease of use. 3 great tips to help you study.
Guide to the end of module tests:
Before starting the tests, remember in real life there may not be just one definitively correct answer a lot can depend on circumstances, the laws of the country you’re traveling in, the individual situation, and your employer. Not all employers have the same policies.
These tests are designed to raise your awareness, not to make you right or wrong. Of course, there are some aspects which common sense tells you will prevail in all circumstances but this course is to give you a sound basis for doing the job, not to tell you exactly how to do it.
Indeed, one of the qualities you need is the ability to think for yourself, quickly.
In the tests, you may well think that more than one answer would be ‘correct’. That’s fine you don’t have to agree with everything we say. Bear in mind that we have chosen the answer that best suits the situation as we see it, based on our culminating experiences.
No self-respecting tour guide would say that there is only one correct way to respond in a given situation this really is a case of ‘it depends’. For the purposes of this course, you must choose only 1 answer.
Finally, when you go to the 'end of module test' pages, you will be asked to enter your name and an email address. This is for security we don't want anyone who hasn't taken the tests to be able to print a certificate.
