Elizabeth power here talking about dealing with the feelings of change as part of taking charge of change. This is where you get your power back. The fact is, there are really only two ways to look at any change that you face. One is to get stuck in the feelings and miss the fact and roll right downhill and the problem of it, the others look at it as an opportunity. But if you look at changes a problem, you scream no in the face of every change, and you go into fight or flight because you are resistant to change and reacting to it. And that's not very helpful.
You don't have many choices there. But when you look at the change as an opportunity, you have the opportunity for growth and goal attainment by saying yes to the change, even though it still feels yucky. Here you are acting and responding. And responding comes from the response rate to think again before acting. This is what happened. we ordinarily roll downhill on the face of the feelings when we need to roll uphill instead.
