All right, welcome back to another video and in this one, I will tell you how to use roundups. As a way to promote your content marketing article and get traffic to your blog. What roundups are is lists basically lists of articles or list of links list of blogs. And the beauty of this technique is that there isn't one specific way to get featured there. There isn't a specific topic you should be covering and there isn't a specific type of content that you should be creating. What I mean by that is that there are video roundup there are link roundups, there are article Roundup, there are social media roundups, and so on and so forth.
So one of the most basic ways of getting into the roundups is basically googling things Like link roundup and then your keyword. In my case, it would be content marketing. So content marketing, and then link Roundup. Notice that it has this, these symbols here. This, what this does is that it adds an exact match for link Roundup, once you use it in Google. It's a Google search formula.
And you can also use in URL or in title, which will make the search even more specific. So once you've found these articles, you have to really go through them if, if it's the first time you're using this roundup technique, this method really have to go through the motions of verifying the blogs and the websites and the articles that you've seen. Since you want to create a relationship with that person. It's not as easy as although this is a link Roundup, I've got a link. I'm just going to spam this person in the comments or email the person or send some sort of tweets are form of our form of communication to this person. And hopefully they'll mention me, it all starts with your content.
If your content is good, your chances drastically increase your content will be featured even without you actually mentioning it. So if your content is good, it usually get found and usually get featured on layouts like this. Another way to find these articles is using buzzsumo. And why I recommend using this is that it also shows you the shares for each specific article. It's pretty hard once you get started, find articles that are good and relate to your niche and see whether or not it's worth it to send an email and create relationships with those people when you don't know if that website has any traffic. So using buzzsumo will allow you to see that oh look previous articles of this nature of the link from The nature had a lot of shares.
So you know that people are interested in this type of content and the content gets shared and presumably also get traffic. So that's another way of finding out whether or not it's worth taking the trouble taking the time to contact that person. Now, as I mentioned in the past, the link for the roundup themselves are not are not limited to link or article roundups. It can also be social media roundup like Twitter, Twitter, Link roundups and things of that nature. It all starts with your content, as I've mentioned before, and all you need to do is get in front of these bloggers in front of these authors, writers influencers, since most of them publish a roundup of the articles that they've seen as interesting. during that week or the next month.
It's it's okay to tell them hey, look, I've got this art. What I usually do is I don't mention specifically that I want to get featured in a specific way. So I just tried to reach out, try to create a relationship, try, try to explain why the content is good, or maybe why the content is good for that particular influencers audience. And I just hope that they'll they'll use that content in a way that that helps. Both of us have to realize that it's not just about you, you obviously want to create your content. You want to have that content be seen by a lot of people, but you have to you have to create a value for people, I have to realize that that nobody gives you things for free even if your content is really really good.
Having your content promoted means that that person believes that your content is good for for that particular audience. So you have to make sure You've done your research before you try to submit your articles to roundups of humanities before I end this video. Another way to get into a roundup is to sort of go through the blog that you usually read or subscribe to new ones and find opportunities. And what I mean by that is usually people are online will actually ask you, hey, if you've seen any interesting links, send them my way or or mention them in the comments. So this is your chance to promote your article. And obviously, when you're in the beginning of your content marketing or your digital marketing career, it's a good way to get in front of people, no matter what people say, if it's spammy or not.
Again, try not to do it with 10s and hundreds of blogs and blog posts and blog, comments, one To develop the relationship, then you no longer need to sort of go through the these professional channels, you can go through the personal channels. And by that, I mean just send the person an email, say, hey, look, here's my, my new article, I think you can squeeze it into your link roundup or this has a special time limited offer, do you think you can insert it into the newsletter with the links the roundup for this week and so on and so forth. Another tip that I use is replying to newsletters. So, more often than not, I get the link roundups as newsletters and with the invention of websites like review and other platforms and services that allow you to gather links, and then share them via your website or via newsletter to your subscribers.
There are a lot more newsletters just focused on curating content, right because that's what roundups basically basically is they are curating content for the consumer, for the customer for the audience. So I just reply to the newsletter that I get. And sometimes sometimes I get lucky and it's one of the more personal email addresses, and the person just happens to reply and says, Oh, this is a good article. I'll, I'll keep it in mind. I'll definitely mention it in the next, the next link from the newsletter. This was all for this video, which was all about how to use roundups to promote your content marketing article.
So thanks for watching.
