So what we need to do is we need to go and download Snapseed now, so this is the piece of software Snapseed by Google Inc. So go and download that. So let's get going open up Snapseed and then we're going to click open, ignore that would just open that's just ask if you delete the past one. And we're going to scan through and we're going to find the image of all of those that we liked or we fought was the best. So what I'm gonna do, I quite like this one at all of them. So I'm just gonna start with this.
So the first thing we're going to do is when we do this image, we're going to rotate and crop now we've left plenty of space around the edge. So let's click the little pencil icon. And then we're going to go to rotate. So if you can see rotate with gonna select that. And then we're just gonna drag it around until because what I was doing I was leaning my head. Now watch what happens when I start straightening up.
One other thing that I didn't do on this image guys, and I hope you can see this I'm gonna leave it there so you can see here. I didn't look at the camera. Remember I said at the beginning to look at the camera I'm slightly looking off, I'm not looking at the camera. Now there is actually a type of shot there's two types of shot really straight out the camera and looking off. In this one I've just noticed I'm in the editing phase. I haven't looked at the camera itself properly.
So little lesson there. We can see that Yep, great mark, you didn't do what you said. We're going to carry on we're going to edit this image. I don't think we're going to lose that much. Just by having the eyes straight on for the sake of the tutorial that we've just straightened up in Australian at first. We're going to click the little tick and now we're starting to get somewhere.
So there What we now need to do is we need to crop so again, click your pencil. So now I'm going to crop him, I'm gonna leave a little bit of room, I don't want to be too full in the picture, remember we've got that 30 millimeter lens on it. So that's gonna make the nose that big. So want to give myself a little bit of space. And I can choose what type of aspect ratio so let's just go back without that. We can bring up the different ones by clicking on their little box with a dots in it.
So square on this one, which can be a classic sort of like portrayed for my social media. I could go for by free and then decide later. I want to change that. So lots of different options. Try all these different ratios. So I'm going to try for free so click the little tick prove the change Then if I want to change anything, anytime I can click that little number at the top, it said free, then I can go and move back to anything.
So I can go to setting there, click that. And then what I want to do is just close, and that will take me back to where I was. Now what I want to do now is I just want to crop in a little bit because I want to remove some of that headspace I probably should have shot it a little bit closer to the top and I would have had more in the frame to play with in the sense of moving around. But now I'm going to move the crop around until I'm happy now what I would like to do is use the rule of thirds in some way, shape or form. The two lines now are over my eyes, you can see but obviously I don't want it to close. I don't want to crop off the top of my head.
So I'm just going to move it up slightly in a mall. I'm going to use It's a vertical role of bed, I'm not going to use both, which is often quite compelling, I haven't got enough room living room in the image should have probably come out a little bit more. And now I've got that. Obviously I've got some black on the side that I'm gonna leave it there and deal with that later. So let's just tick that. Okay, so now we're getting an image.
Now you see we've removed that space and the image is starting to really jump up and get closer to us. So what we need to do now is we need to do some healing. So I'm going to do I'm going to click the pencil tool that's going to bring up all my options. And you can see healing that in the press healing, so I'm going to bring up healing. What I'm going to do I'm just going to zoom in on my skin. I'm going to go in nice and close and let you see all my damages and anything anytime I draw something like that, it's going to remove it so what I'm gonna do I'm gonna move it around.
Right Thing Okay, so I'm I was up there. So to move that, I'm just going to click it to meet the mole there, we click that. And I'm just going to move it around using the little square on the left. If I do it big, you'll get a big.so you have to zoom in to get small control. So I'm just going to tap on the screen where that spot on my neck was maybe a little blemish there. So I'll just remove that and you start tidying up the skin.
Now what I'm going to do now is I'm going to zoom out cuz I've got another issue in this image. And this issue is over here. So if I just go over here and draw my finger and I'm zooming back in, and then once that's gonna do it's gonna heal now the first year wasn't that good. So I'll keep healing until I get something now I'm gonna deal with this later on. I'm going to blur all this out. So we'll see how that goes.
But this A little tip for you there, I can try and remove some of these dark patches in the background because I'm on white. Okay, so clean it up as probably best I can, maybe a line. Minor like that. Oh, good, we'll do that. Oh, that's what happens when you use a big one. That's it.
So now we're starting to get a clean background, we've got the image, we've done some healing. So any bits of fluff on the shirt on any imperfections on the face will help us there. Now the next thing we do is do some basic tuning now. So this is we've done the core stuff we've rotated and cropped. We've done our healing. Now I'm going to go in I'm going to choose an image by firstly to accept that so I'm going to click that's done.
So now what we're going to do, I'm going to click the pencil, we're going to go to choose an image and this is where the basic stuff is done. So if I hold my finger on the screen He's going to bring up all these different controls. So let's play with brightness go down these one at a time. So I'm going to come to brightness. So if I go down and up and watching my face, I'm not too worried about the background, I might brighten up a little bit in the top tip for you ladies, you brighten up the skin with beauty lighting, which naturally removes wrinkles because it gives you a nice soft wrap around your face. I brighten up a little bit on the brightness, what that's gonna do a takes on the pink out my skin if I don't like the pink was in my skin and most Caucasians have lots of pink in this skin.
If I bring it down more you can see I'm going to start sounding a little bit dramatic. So I'm just gonna, that was where it was. So I'm just gonna bring that up till I'm happy with how it looks on the screen. And then I'm going to go to my next option, ambience and what ambience is going to do. I'm going to just apply a little bit of soft contrast to the image if you ladies you can just put a little bit soft contrast and even at skin tone You're going to get the porcelain effect. Gentlemen, if you want to create a little bit more drama a little bit more depth, much increase, I love it, I usually leave that one alone.
To be honest, it doesn't do that much for me. Now we come to contrast. Now for the gentleman, we want contrast. So we're going to want a little bit contrast ladies might have a little bit less, but we're just going to pop some contrast in there, maybe down a tiny bit, I just find it amazing. You can do all of this on your phone. And we've got saturation that I like to desaturate I just particularly like a slightly off color, but you can decide for yourself.
So I'm just gonna take the saturation down ever such a tiny bit, take a bit of saturation out. And then we've got highlights and shadows. Now highlights are going to do is you can see my skin, it's going to blow it out. Now if I had a really bad highlight and my skin, the highlights are going to take the whites down on this image. We're not going to do too much what would you brighten the image so I'm just gonna leave that there. And then we've got the shadows which was actually above I'm going to take my shadows down because I like to create a bit of depth and interest.
So I'm just taking my shadows down a little bit ladies, you might not want to apply too much shadow shadows good for the men are working, just take the blacks and make them black at highlights takes a white makes them whiter. So we're starting to create some contrast in the image. And then last of all got war that I can go, I could decide to go really warm, I could decide to go really cold and I could just now if you want to go warm and cold like this, you can see as we do this is making some funky effects on the colors. You might want to desaturate a little bit more so I'm gonna do I'm gonna D saturate, take my situation down a little bit more and take it out. There's quite cold now in terms of that. Now when I d saturate when now when I go cold, let's go to warm when I take that down a little bit, it's going to work a little bit more so I can have a cold harder look or I can go on and then the reds are not gonna jump out as much A warm up the Reds in my skin.
I've got typical occasion male skin, lots of red in it and you don't see it until you start learning to do a bit of editing. So I'm seeing that and I'm thinking, Okay, I can always come back later and tune it a little bit more. In fact, what I'm probably gonna do, I probably put a little bit more saturation back in, don't lose too much. Let's just make an adjustment there. Okay, let's click a tick, save those changes.
