So now we've reached that point where we think we've hope we've expressed what we believe minimalism to be, and how you can apply it into the different areas of your life, and basically how to guide you into that process. Now, we want to take you into some of the examples some of the practical solutions that we've seen work for other people. And it also shows us sometimes some before and afters so we'll dive into those. So the first one is showing you our own creations. So we started doing them a long time ago. 2012 we've formally started doing them on paper.
So as you can see, we just put the ingredients. This is mine, so I'll explain. Yeah, so this one don't read too closely. Because it is my personal details. But here you can see I write the date on the top of every piece of paper. I write where we are.
So we were in Barcelona, Spain. Last year in 2000 are still this year 2017. I write myself A couple notes in the center. And along the bottom, I really believe in a book called The Four Agreements by Dan, Don Miguel. And it is don't make assumptions. Be impeccable with your word.
Don't take things personally and always do your best. Those are things that I struggle to always strive to do. But then I give myself a guiding principle using those headings, the seven ingredients, family work body, I add color into that, and I talk about the things that I want to do under each of those categories. So this is mine, same day, we did them together. We were in Barcelona, visiting my family and it was a very inspiring moment for us to reflect about the year it was January so we have like, Okay, what are we doing this year? When are we working on and as you can see, I have a few objectives here like in into its category.
Sometimes I don't feel for example, a few after this one. I feel I'd Oh, buddy, I feel really well, I'm exercising, I'm playing squash, I'm eating well. So if you don't have anything in mind, and you're feeling well, so the first thing that we always do with every ingredient, we try to read it, how am I feeling right now about this ingredient from zero being water the worst, up to 10 to be the best. And if you have a good note, if you have like an eight or something, and you have a three or four in some other area, maybe you can focus your energy into the other things because you are already doing good in that one. So this is really flexible. This is just a tool to help you reflect and find what's not working for you.
And it doesn't have to be in every area of your life, or it could be everything. And maybe you feel overwhelmed. Don't try to do it all at once. Try to just pick one thing and change it.
