Hi, and welcome to the awesome world of Power BI. So I'm just showing you here right now on what we see on the Power BI website. It's actually one of the reports that we'll be creating later. Okay, so before we get started this talk about what Power BI is all about. So Power BI is a cloud based data analysis tool, which can be used for reporting and analyzing data from a wide range of data sources. So there's gonna be a lot of data sources that we could use to create our reports and perform analysis on it.
So Power BI is a simple and user friendly enough tool. So even you or business analysts, or power users can work with it, and you will reap benefits out of it. Okay. But on the other hand, it's also a powerful and mature enough tool that can be used with enterprise systems. So if you're a developer or if you love working with complex data, and modeling scenarios, then Part B is also perfect for you. Okay, before we dive further into Power BI, I wanted to discuss first about the different components of Power BI.
So let me just open my Power BI Desktop. And the first component that I want to show you is the par query. Okay, so for power query, this is where we load our data, and then we mash up our data. Okay, so in other words, we transform our data. Next up is Power Pivot. So let me just jump over here.
And for Power Pivot, it's an in memory tabular data modeling tool. Okay. So once we have our data loaded and transformed, then this is where we create our data model. Okay. Next up is Power View. So for Power View, it's actually our data visualization tool, okay.
So that's where you create your chart, your visualization so that it's easier for you to understand the data that you're trying to analyze other components right. We're not showing here at the moment is power map. It's a treaty data visualization tool. Okay. And then we have power q&a. So it's a natural language question and answering engine.
And then we have this one that we're using Power BI Desktop. So this is the Windows application that I'm using at the moment. And this is a powerful companion development tool for Power BI. It's more of like a holistic development tool that combines Power Query, Power Pivot and Power View into a seamless experience. Okay? So if you're overwhelmed right now, don't worry about it, because we'll be going through all of this step by step from getting data all the way once we have our report and visualizations ready.
Okay. So, aside from Power BI Desktop, we also have the Power BI website. So let me just jump over here. So over here, we actually have the Power BI website, okay, so you can publish your reports here so that they can be Share to your colleagues or friends or different people, okay? And then there's also mobile apps actually. And we will see this website in action later.
Now if you've used this individual components before, then this is where you'll be discovering the beauty of all of this integrate together into one seamless solution. So we'll have couple of examples for you to work from start to finish, and look forward to it in the next following sections.
