Creating a rank chart in Excel is an easy thing to do. Here we have a data of at least 20 data points available in front of us. The first thing that we do whenever we are creating a run chart is we identify the median of these data sets because the center line in a run chart is always a median. So let us calculate the median of this data set. The median can be easily calculated by using the formula is equal to median and then selecting the entire data set. To do that, you see that the median is identified.
Just copy this same number pull out your data Once you have done that, now it's time to draw the current chart, select the entire data, go to Insert, go to a line chart. And our rank chart is technically right in front of you. Well, to make this chart a little more better, from a visual perspective, we would just change these axes to let's say a dotted line. Make it just a little bit better from a view perspective. So you will see that the median is this red colored line. And the data points in this range chart are depicted by this blue colored line.
This is how a run chart is constructed in an exam, thank you for watching.
