Hello, welcome back. So this is the last module. Well done. Congratulations on finishing the course, getting a bulletproof CV takes work, and you've done it. So well done. I'm so happy for you.
So now I'm going to teach you how to get the recommendations that you need. And let me share my screen with you because there's a, there's an easy way to do it. Here you go. So let's just recap. So we know how to do executive summaries. We know how to make achievements look big, how to get past the filters.
We know how to cover gaps, how to be irresistible to recruiters, how to optimize LinkedIn. And now we're going to learn how to get recommendations for LinkedIn. And just you know, recommendation letters in general, the easy way. So here we go. If you don't have you know, a recommendation letter from your manager. Let's Say you don't want your manager to know that you are looking, or you don't have a great relationship with your manager.
Well, you can ask it from a peer, or you can ask it from a client. Or you can ask it from a manager in a different division, who knows how good you are at your job. Or you can ask it from the partner. It doesn't necessarily have to be your manager to draft it. And by the way, it could even be somebody you managed, okay? So, draft the letter for them.
Do it for them, don't expect people to do it for you, because they have busy lives. they'll forget about it. And you know, it's unintentional, but it doesn't work. If you don't do it for them, print it out, and bring it to them with the pen. You know, just sign on the dotted line. If it's on LinkedIn, just offer them to you know, here's the draft that I prepared for you.
You can use it or you can do something else. You're welcome to do whatever you want and And, you know, offer them to do a recommendation for them as well so that they feel it's a win win. Okay. Give them a deadline. Don't forget to give them a specific deadline because otherwise it's going to be, you know, delayed and dragged. Okay?
What do you include in the recommendation? It's very important. So, you have to add basically, essentially, what I want to see in your recommendation is, I would work again with this person, I enjoyed being, you know, interacting with her, I would recommend her to other people, I would welcome the opportunity of working again with her. So this is, you know, I would do it again, this is essential. When it comes to recommendation. We need to feel that people would hire you again, would work with you again.
And you also want to demonstrate in your recommendation, that you helped the company advance its goals. They you saved money, that you attracted money somehow that you landed new clients or just retained the clients that you had, that you created new business opportunities, business development opportunities, new synergies new partnerships, okay. We also want you to have strong ethics. So you want to list that in your recommendation that you had, you know, very strong work ethics, that you transferred knowledge that you enabled others to grow in their careers. That looks really good, especially if you're going for a managerial type of role. And you want to show that you have grew your career in a consistent and ambitious way.
That's really what you want to include in your recommendation letters. Keep in mind that you should use synonyms for words that are too commonly used. Okay? Don't just say good communicator, great team player, because this is too common. Everybody's using those words out there. So be creative and The way you describe yourself because you're going to be drafting the recommendation, right?
I want you to sound authentic, be you because everyone else is already taken right here, the bonuses, I'm going to let you go through the bonuses, there's so much into bonuses that you need to check. I'm so proud that you came this far. I can tell you how happy I am. And I'm going to see you in the next course because I'm preparing two other courses for you one about interview preparation, and one about networking. So this is going to help you get to your goals faster. I thank you again for your time and I can't wait to work with you again.
