If y equals k x, where k is a constant, and y is equal to 24, when x equals six, what is the value of y when x equals five? Well, if we want to find the value of y when x equals five, we have way too many variables here y k and x, we need to find what K is. First, we can find k given that X equals six when y is equal 24. So let's plug that in. When we have y is equal to k x, then we have 24 is equal to k times six, and k is equal to 24 divided by six, which gives us four. So then we can rewrite our equation to say y is equal to four times x.

Okay, you see how I got that we got we just found what K is and that's just four. And now I can plug in the value of x being five and I can get what the y value is. So our y is going to be equal to Four times five, which is 20. Yes. Let's see.
