We're gonna jump right on into the cake making here. Yes, I am going to continue with that analogy of making a cake. Because it sounds delicious. So we need to identify the goals of the collaboration, ie what type of cake Are we going to make? Are you going to make a chocolate cake, or a cheese cake, or cupcakes or whatever millions of other cakes are out there, you need to figure out what you're making. So you came to this idea that you need to collaborate because you either found out that you have a project that's too big for just you for just one person.
Or maybe you know that you need some different ideas and you need to kind of shake things up a little bit and get out of your own head, which is awesome. So you're smart enough to realize that you can't do this on your own. And that is a really great place to start. So we go back we need to identify what you need to accomplish with this collaborative event. Are you just going to be brainstorming about it? Are you going To be creating a finished project, what's the goal of this specific collaborative event, so you're going to make a cheesecake great.
But this event is just for smashing up the graham cracker crust. That's kind of where we're at with this. You also need to decide who needs to be invited to participate in this event, what ingredients Do you need, you also need to decide who's going to be in charge, which might sound a little crazy, but you need to not assume you're always the best person to be in charge. You might have an amazing team member who has just the perfect set of skills for this task. So don't assume that you're necessarily the right person. You're smart enough to know that you need to collaborate and you're smart enough to get to this point.
So be smart and empowered enough to know that you can put other people in charge and that actually gives you a better sense Standing as a manager, it helps people trust you more gives you more confidence and it looks like you have confidence to so decide, is it you who's going to be in charge? Not necessarily a bad thing, there's a reason you're in this position? Or is it going to be someone else? Of course now, after, after having said all that, I'm going to assume that you're the person in charge for the rest of this course, just to make my life a little easier. And lastly, you need to set a time frame. So when will this event occur?
And if there is any, like document, anything that needs to be created beforehand, people need to deliver that at the event 24 hours before the event up to you. So you need to set the timeframes as well. So that is all about identifying the goals of your collaboration. Again, what are you trying to accomplish? Who needs to come and be collaborative in this? Who's going to be in charge and set a timeframe?
Pretty simple. Let's keep going.
