Upwork likes you to stay working on their platform. And that's obviously because they want to keep earning a slice of your jobs. But what I found is a lot of clients, especially if they're close to where you're living or working, they want to meet you, they want to get to know you, and they want to hire you outside of the confines of Upwork. They want to call you, they want to text you, they want to email you, they want to speak to you about jokes, maybe they even want to show you their job. And they didn't want to have to go back to using a piece of software, even though it is pretty unrestricted. Client sometimes can feel like it is a bit of a restricted platform, and they want the freedom of meeting in person calling you texting you or emailing you.

They want to move away from the restrictions that Upwork may provide. Now, that's not going to happen at first, it's only going to happen once you've had a proven relationship with clients. This goes to show just how important it is to have great relationships with your Upwork clients because you never know how much work they're going to need. It personally happened to me a couple of times where I've done one small lower paying job for a client and they were so totally impressed that they were they had another Jump down the line that was bigger in scale. They knew me they trusted me. So they immediately hired me for that job.

There was virtually no application needed. They thinking using my connects on Upwork just a stripe hire from that job. Now one of the examples was I was hired to do a super simple gym logo. It was a logo for a gym. And I did this logo wasn't very much I think they paid something around the $60 mark for this one logo. Once they had this logo, they loved it, they made a few changes to the logo.

And because I wanted to impress them, I love them to make as many changes to it as they wanted, because again, I wanted to over deliver. If this was a client that I'd been working with for many years, I would restrict them to a certain number of revisions However, because this was someone that I was trying to impress, and I wanted that future business, what I did is I allowed them to have virtually unlimited access to me. Once I had done all that and I was super impressed with that gym logo when they needed a series of videos making for that gym classes that new equipment they hired me to purchase Use edit, create these videos for them, which was a significant amount of money, far more than just the logo. However, if I hadn't impressed them and over delivered on the logo, I never would have gotten the repeat business.

So it goes to show just how important having these relationships and nurturing them over delivering clients is. Not only that, but you can then feel comfortable when it comes to the end of the Upwork contracts, you can ask them for a positive review. And you can just say something along the lines of, Hey, thank you so much for a great job. I really enjoyed working on this. Would it be possible for you to take two seconds just to leave me a good five star review. All that helps is for me to continue to work, continue to do the work on the platform that I love and working with great clients like yourself.

Something as simple as that. If you make it sound easy and genuine. That's what I've found to be the best way to get good reviews from clients. And then again that that goes into nurturing your current clients. I mean, it's that full cycle that goes back in full spin it Hi From Upwork, for myself for certain jobs that I have, and what I tend to do is I have a low paying job. And it might be a small section of the real job that I'm hiring for.

And I and I test out a few different freelancers and I see the ones that are going to over deliver on a smaller budget, because then I know in the back of my mind, if they over deliver on that smaller paying job, well then I can feel confident as a client that they're going to favor deliver when the budget is much larger.
