Jeremy, Jeremy and his friend are going through dinner party tonight. Jeremy arrived at his friend's house a bit late to come up there, they're in a bit of a hurry. When they get in the car, Jeremy's friend tells him, the party is out 123 River Road. Jeremy doesn't know where river is, or even which areas. But because we're running late, his friend tells him that they don't have time to stop the map. They're in a hurry.
So they start driving to hopefully get to the party before the appetizers are served. Obviously, because they don't know where it is, they end up driving around aimlessly. They're hoping that they'll randomly find it, but they don't. They spent so much time following other cars open it'll get them there. Before they know it is late. They missed dinner, and the whole evening has been a complete waste of time.
So although they moved forward, because the direction wasn't right Moving forward was completely unbeneficial. Jeremy knows that instead, if he would have taken five minutes, pull over, have a look at the map. Find out where they were and where River Road is. They could have been there No. No detours, no roadblocks, no getting straight to their destination. Now, Jeremy always made sure to take the time to check where he is and where he's going before taking any steps.
