In this segment we're going to look at the effects of uncontrolled or mismanaged stress. I think we all can agree that stress is a killer. It leads to a lot of illnesses and diseases, or increases the symptoms of illnesses and diseases. In the short run, we see stress can cause headaches, stomach aches, problems with sleep and digestion. It can create short tempers, anger and frustration and our affects our ability to focus and to concentrate. But when stress begins to accumulate and is not managed or mismanaged, it can lead to some pretty serious problems.

One is we see an increase in cardiovascular disease, more heart attacks, high blood pressure, and an increased incidence and strokes. In addition to that, we see an increase in the symptoms of cancers in diabetes and obesity in public Problems with sleep and affecting our immune system. So I think it's really important we begin to handle this whole idea of stress and one free gift that is very accessible. 24 seven to all of us, regardless of our age, regardless of our ability, regardless of our socio economic background, is our breathing. So managing stress just may be as simple as taking a few deep breaths.
