Another aspect of professional behavior, closely linked to how you speak, is not using filler words. filler words are words that don't mean anything in conversation, especially in professional conversation. These are words like I'm a liar, like, and, basically, and so on and so forth. We tend to use these words when we're not really sure of what we want to say. And they could also be said from a force of habit. So, a piece of advice I would give you, when you're about to use a filler word is to pause.
If you feel yourself about to say something like I'm basically or actually simply pause and continue your sentence. It gives the person you're talking to time to think about what you're seeing, and it gives you time to plan what you'll see next. So avoid using filler words in a professional context.
