The first aspect I'm going to talk about is owning your time. What time do you show up to the office? What are your productivity hours? And when do you leave the office, many of us have a job beginning and an end time that we need to comply to. Here in the UK, it's usually an 830 start, or nine o'clock starts, and a 5pm ending time with a one hour lunch break. Depending on when you get into the office, you need to put in the hours according to your contract.
So you need to know and let those around you, especially your manager, and your team members know what time you're going to get in. You need to honor the time that you say you will get in. If you are delayed for any reason, send an email or send a note to your team to say that you were delayed. But the most important thing I want to tell you in this part is that if you have a meeting at a certain time, do everything you can to make it on time. This is very important. It shows credibility.
And it builds trust in those around you that you will make it on time for meeting. Second to that, know your productivity hours. And make sure those around you know when to and put in your hours at work. In essence, if you're a late morning person and you show up maybe at 930 in the morning, make sure that you stay until your contracted time of about 6pm. And if you're very early riser, and you show up at 730 then there are no issues you put in your contracted time and you leave the office at about 430 depending on how long you need to stay
