Hi again, welcome back. Now that you're thinking about your future and how this will all work out, it's time to start thinking about your quit date. You see, with a cocaine addiction, you'll need at least seven days to fully detox. Think about detox, which we will talk about more in a later lecture. But think of it as like a flu or an illness. The first three days being the worst with possible remorse or depression, you may have a really hard time adjusting your sleep patterns to it's not uncommon for the body to try and play catch up and you may find yourself sleeping for long periods of times during these first few days.
And then it's going to take a few more days just to feel functional. With that being said, it's unlikely you'll be able to perform your regular work and family duties. Therefore, you'll need some time off. If you have to fudge a lie to get time off work then do that. But you'll probably need more than just a day. Hopefully your family and friends will be supportive of you and let you detox but if that's not the case, then perhaps you'll need to plan around some things.
For example, if you have a family vacation or wedding or maybe the CEO is coming to your workplace, then those might not be great times for you to go be going through a detox. You'll need to find your freest possible we can go from there. Once you look at your calendar and figure out the best time, then I want you to tell anyone you can that knows about your diction so they can support you and hold you accountable. The thing about telling other people's that it's a lot easier to let your own selves down sometimes than it is to let your loved ones down. Hopefully this will motivate you to keep your word at least it will give others some insight as to why you may not be feeling well during your time of detox. Okay, so after this lecture, pause the course and set your quit date.
When you come back. We'll get you all set up so that you can start your detox See you soon.
