So now everything is here you know the basic settings to do your animation, you know how to build your character, how to export it, how to import it here in Dragon bones, how to add the bones, you know the basics, you could do your animation. Okay? So what makes it heavy? What makes it heavy is that if you didn't do animation before you are not a seasoned animator, you cannot start to draw it straight on. You need some references. As we drawing anything you look at it, you are drawing a knight you are looking at Knights in armor.
This is what I did before. Whatever you draw, you look at references look at other people work and look at photos. In this case in animations. Photos are simply not enough you need to watch videos. This is called Live Video reference. I will show you one great resource, YouTube, nothing else.
Go to YouTube and type Animation reference search for animation References This is one animation reference I found. See, even in slow motion it had been used to create the walk cycle. I will talk about that soon. It is helping you a lot. Just watch movies, cartoons. Yeah, mostly movies because what is the problem with cartoons you see how someone else is animating it, but you want to see want to make your own you want to see some photos.
I don't say copy these slavish Li, I say, learn how the feet is working, learn how the body is moving. And use that knowledge in your animation. Don't throw it over frame by frame, but live references are amazing. And if you think you need a reference only if because you are an amateur and you're just starting your animation, think again. Everyone professionals, everyone is using references to draw an unlimited Look at this. This is an animation reference I just found on YouTube.
I was looking for another one, but I found this one. These nice animation reference from Little Mermaid they were checking a lot of water animals to draw the animals and the creatures and Little Mermaid. These are trained professionals are doing this for decades, and they still look at difference references. So don't feel bad about it. Check on YouTube, check on Pinterest, check online, watch live videos and learn from those and create your animations about that. If you don't find something online, don't find a reference.
Don't give up. Create your own videos. Just take your webcam or ask your friend or brother or someone to hold your phone and create a video video about you jumping, moving, hitting with a sword like object. It doesn't have to be perfect. You just have to be movement. And then you watch the video analyze then you can use it to your animation.
So use references It's a great thing. It's gonna help you a lot
