Sara and Jackie want to host a celebration for their professors 30th anniversary but decide not to hire an event planner. They have a few big ideas for the event, including an award ceremony and a string quartet. The Night of the event comes and they're in trouble. The caterers are there, but the food vendors are nowhere to be found. The tables are in place, but there are no chairs and the stage hasn't been put together. They don't have any valet permits or liquor licenses, because they don't have any contracts for the vendors and other staff.
None of them have an obligation to show up. They end up having to cancel the event last minute
