Greetings, I'm Professor Kay and in this short video presentation, we're going to see how we go about enabling remote desktop or server 2019. For this demonstration, I'll be showing you two different ways that we can enable Remote Desktop on a server 2019 installation. Now for this first method, we can click on the start button. And from here, we can go over to the control panel. From the control panel, you can scroll on down to your find system, then double click it. From here, you can go over to your advanced settings.
And then from here, you can go over and click on the remote tab. Now from here, you'll see that it's currently configured not to allow remote connections to this computer, but if you would like it to be able to receive a remote connection using RDP go ahead and check the radio button that says allow remote connections to this computer. Now nothing you can do is to leave this check or uncheck to allow connections only from computers running remote data desktop with network level authentication. That means that those machines that are going to connect must be a member of your domain. So if you uncheck this box, then any computer from inside or outside of your network would be allowed to connect using RDP, go ahead and say Apply, say OK to that. Now for the second method of enabling remote desktop, on your server, you have to go to Start button.
And from here, you're going to click on the Settings icon. And once you're up inside of the settings, you're going to click on system. And you're going to scroll all the way down to where it says Remote Desktop. And here you see that we've already enabled the remote desktop, but if it wasn't enabled, or you wanted to disable it, you would just use this option right here and close it. The second method of enabling or disabling access using remote desktop is still in beta. So until Microsoft releases it, you're not going to be able to get much functionality.
From it. So that's going to conclude this short video presentation on how we go about enabling Remote Desktop on our server 2019 installation. So if you have any questions or you have any concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out and contact your instructor and I'll see you in my next video.
