Many of these hints will also be covered in future modules. But I hope that it helps you by gathering some together here. speaking slowly and clearly can help when you first Use Dragon. Because Don't forget, Dragon has to learn about how you write at the same time that you are learning how to use it. Speaking in short phrases to start with can help this process. It also gives you time to think about what you want to write, so you are less likely to stumble, I tend to correct any mistakes that dragon makes as soon as I spot them.
And there are two main reasons for this approach. Firstly, I tend to watch the screen as I dictate, as I find it easier to spot dragon mistakes this way. And secondly, if I dictate a word that is not already in Dragon's vocabulary, it will get it wrong. And if I then dictate the same word several times more it will continue to get it wrong. When I corrected immediately, Dragon look at the word right Next time I dictate it, so I have less correcting to do. When correcting errors, please ensure that you enter words into the vocabulary that are correctly spelled, so dragon writes them correctly in future.
Just because you can do everything with your voice, it doesn't mean that you have to. learning lots of new commands can seem a bit daunting. And that's one of the reasons that I start with three key commands to make initial use of Dragon much easier. Keeping it simple like this to start with makes dragon easier to learn to use it for writing. If you can't remember a command, or if you can't get dragon to recognize a word or phrase, please type it and move on for now. So you don't feel like it is taking you longer to work.
You can always come back to the problem later. Throughout this course you will see dragon voice commands displayed in capital letters and the bold blue font like this. Choose one new Line
