Greetings, I'm Professor Kay and in this short video presentation, we're going to see how we go about resetting our administrator password. I'm currently logged on to my domain controller, so I'll be resetting the password for the domain administrator account. Now there's two different ways you can do this. The first thing you can do is you can send a Control Alt Delete, using the keyboard, or in this case, as I am inside of VirtualBox, and from here, you can change your password. You type in your old password, you type in the new password, and you can then log on to your domain controller using your new administrator password. Now another way that you can do this is you can go up inside of active directory, find the account that you want to change the password on, just right click in this case it is the administrator.
I'll just right click and I will reset the password here. So now I can type in my new password. And I can uncheck this box that the user must change password at next time. logon and I'll be golden. So that's how you can change the administrator password on a domain controller for server 2012, server 2016 or server 2019
