So all our preparation is now about pay it off. As we finally set up your Facebook page, we're going to come over to the left hand column here and find the word Create Page. If you click on page, Facebook will open up six options for you. The first one is local business or place. This is for those organizations that are based on location, such as a coffee shop, a bakery, or anything that you want to orientate to whichever place you're in. You just need your page name, a category and an address.
The second option is for companies. Here you can see the drop down list of those that are related to different types of companies. Industrial consulting educational death is where you should go to third One is based on what you're selling. The kind of product you want to be listed as a part of, such as appliances, health and beauty, home decor, cars, cameras. The fourth one is for that public figure role, such as an artist, a band, an author, something where you're representing who you are. Entertainment is a great category for things like sports, books, teams, albums, music, have a look through that list of you think your form of entertainment.
The last one is for community codes or community. As its title suggests, perhaps you're a nonprofit organization, or it's something in your area that you're doing for your community. We're going to go with a local business for example, as I'm going to set it up as the Temporary break free kind of idea. This isn't a real business, but just something for us to see how pages works. So I'm going to tap in the business name baking delights. Select the page category baking, pop in a physical address.
Should you skip a field you'll notice, Facebook will pop up a little red box that says, what you're missing, in this case, my city and my phone number. So it's important to go back and see where you've missed and pop on the relevant information. Once you get it all in, you can get started. Now remember to be patient Depending on your Wi Fi speeds and where you are in the world, it can take a few seconds for Facebook to fit does that for you. We now have a blank page that we can fill with all the things you've prepared 30 we're going to look at your profile photo. So we're going to the left hand top corner, we're going to click on the little camera button, the other knife and fork.
It will be given two options when you do this. Take photo or upload photo, and we're going to choose upload photo. It's a great idea to have all your files in one place for easy access. I've labeled my profile photo, so I'm going to double click on that Facebook is now loading that profile photo into the system. And they give you the option of editing the photo into square. This is great if you haven't taken the photo in that format, or you don't know how to edit photos, you can reposition the blocks that you can get the part of the picture you like.
It's the cat that's in full color here. And you can zoom in and out by selecting the little circle along the bottom. Once you're happy with how it looks, you're going to click Save. Facebook confirms that your post has been successfully saved. And we'll reload your new page for that. Once you've got that in place, we're going to move over to cover photo.
So again, click Add cover It'll give you three options, we can choose to upload a photo or video. Choose the photo or video that you're looking to add. As a bakery, I've decided to go with a picture of a cake. Again, we don't usually take photos in this peculiar format. So remember, Facebook gives you the option to edit and reposition it. So I'm going to grab ahold of your photo by holding down your mouse and just move the photo around until you feel it fills that space really well.
Once you're happy, click Save. Well then you've done the first two things to creating a remarkable Facebook page. We are now ready to add the About Us sections. We're going to come over to the left hand side, click about, you should see your physical details in there already like your address and contact number. If not, you can add those. And then at the bottom here you'll see all the fields Facebook would like you to fill out.
We're going to start with a start date. This was when your business began. Facebook gives you a number of options to choose from. You can decide if you want to be born, founded started, opened, created or launched. You can then add a year, a month or a day. How specific you would like to get is up to you.
From here, we're going to add an email address. If you have one. You're going to take the little box and fill in your email address. When it's complete, you can click Save Similarly, you can click into website. Take this page has a website and type in the web address. Remember to include HTTP double dot forward slash www before your web address.
Then there's a section called edit other accounts. If you have any social media feeds, this is a good place to put them. So you have Instagram or Twitter, you're just going to tap in your handle. So that's the bit after the app symbol. Now we get down to where you create a text for it is about share, you'll see that they tell you can add a short description of the limit of 255 characters. I recommend that you have a document open up beside you so you can easily see the text that you've written.
If you've written more than 255 characters, Facebook will tell you that it's too long, and that it'll just catch you off. Wherever it feels that should end. It's important that you choose which part of your story you feel is important here. I'm going to highlight what's a modern day promise for the bakery rather than our history. Once you're happy, click Save. You'll see a number of other fields such as edit and PCM and privacy policy.
You can ignore those and come over and click Edit story. Share, you'll be able to put the full story you've created with no character limit. Once you've copied and pasted it, click Save. You've now completed the About Us section of your business page. Well then You can choose to add yourself as a team member. This will link your personal account to your business profile.
And you can add a button. I recommend adding a button, pick one that suits the kind of business you're offering. Whether it's a book now, order, get in touch by email message whatever suits you based. For the bakery, we're going to do a get in touch button. And I'm going to choose it to be a send email. Here you just pop in your email address, and add button.
Each button has a different field, but they're very similar. Once you've done that, you'll see the button now reads send email. should someone land on the page they can quickly click that button to contact me
