Just recently I've been through a large career change in my own life. A couple of years ago, I had this intuitive feeling that I really wanted to reach a broader audience. And the validation for that was that I was really tired of sort of the rigid schedule of Steve private clients all the time that I had, and lots of classes that I was teaching, I really needed some breathing room. So intuitively, I knew I needed to go someplace else and do something else. But I didn't know quite what it was. My intuition then said to me, I'm not going to be able to know what I'm going to do next until I clear my calendar and clear my schedule.
So I needed to cancel all my clients, cancel my classes and free up my whole schedule. And I did this based on trusting my intuition. Now after all the years that I've been working with it, I know that it always works even though there are times when I feel tremendous personal anxiety at the same time. It's learning to build a family ability to feel that anxiety of uncertainty and feel the trust in the intuition at the same time. And that's the state I was in for a long time. So I let everything go.
And then I had to wait until I got the images and the feeling and the sense and the articulation of what my new path was going to be. And that was a complete intuitive process. Then once I outlined my vision, and I could articulate it very clearly, I wrote it all out. And I have it on a piece of paper up on my desk, and I look at it every day. Then what I do is I meditate and I just listen to myself every morning to determine what's my next step. And every day I get an answer about what my next step is, unless I don't complete it from the day before.
And this is what I recommend for people. I mean, they may not be able to go as cold turkey as I've been able to go because I'm pretty experienced in this. But what I would suggest is that you listen for your own Internal timing of when something is the right thing for you to do. If you have so much fear and anxiety that you don't think you're going to be able to handle making that step, then don't do it. Be sure to honor your fears and honor your anxiety. And don't push yourself beyond your limits, tested out in little steps first, and then be ready to take the bigger steps.
And your intuition will guide you it will also bring opportunities for you. It's very important. That intuition works through a thing called synchronicity, which is external events, which come to you and kind of trigger this internal knowing. So when a career track that could come as a book, if someone hands you to read, someone who calls you on the phone, you meet somebody on the street, who says oh, you know, you should talk to so and so and so and so. And that is part of the intuitive process that deserves to be honored. And make time for put that into your plan that you're going to make time To allow those synchronistic experiences to happen if you're going to take time to allow the intuitive process to be part of your career development plan.
And one way you can do that is by keeping a journal by networking like crazy talk to people tell everybody you know, what you're looking for, and what you want to have happen even if you don't have it well articulated, and that begins to seed and stimulate the intuitive process.
