In this lesson we're going to learn how to pronounce and say the time. In American English, we use am and pm am is for morning and day. It comes from the Latin words Anta meridiem and pm. We use for evening and night. Post meridiem noon and midnight, we say for both of them 12 o'clock for noon is 12 o'clock pm for midnight is 12 o'clock AM. There are two ways to say the time we have the formal way.

We say the hour first and then the minutes. For example, it's 940 940 the popular way to say the time is the minutes first, and then the hour. For example, it's 20. After two, it's 20. After two on the hour, we say o clock. So it's nine o'clock.

You could say it's five minutes after four, but easier is just is 405 30 minutes, we say 30 or half past, it's 130. Or it's half past 115 minutes. We say, a quarter, or 15. It's a quarter after four. It's the quarter after four, or it's 415 is 415 45 minutes. We also say, a quarter, or 45.
