In this lecture we will learn the history of blood test briefly. Just as blood test is the creator of lettuce and he was born in Germany around 1883 he had rheumatic fever as Dima and rickets as a child. And in order to improve his own health, he began exploring ways to strengthen his body and his mind. Joy become intrigued by the classical notion of the idle men who combined a well trained buddy with an equally well trained intellect. He started to practice boxing, fencing and wrestling with his father and brother. And that time Germany was a fertile ground for these explorations, and he started his tour in England with a boxer friend during his tour the road Baldwin broke out, and he was held as a resident alien in an internment camp on the Isle of Man for the duration of the war.
While in the camp, he took it upon himself to lead his fellow detainees in a daily exercise program. And according to joy when the influenza epidemic of 1918 to 1919 broke out, none of the inmates who followed his regimen got sick. Joy success with his group of inmates brought him to the attention of the camp leaders and he was given the job of an orderly at a hospital for wounded soldiers. And he was put in charge of 30 different patients and work with them every day to exercise whatever they could move. And this was in the days when Western medicine was in its infancy, and there were a few treatments to offer to patients. So this is how the lettuce was born.
And reputation metal at the beginning. And after joy was released from the camps and returned to Germany, he was asked to use his metal to train the police forces. He basically rejected it and he moved to USA with his wife. In the USA, they rented a small studio and started to practice lettuce. And he also taught to small group of devoted students. So his dream of introducing his vision of Mind Body Fitness into every aspect of life was not successful during his life.
So he didn't receive much recognition of his metal. And why today, lettuce is so popular because platters focuses on engaging the mind and body together to create exercises that involve the whole person. Every exercise is performed with attention to the breath, proper form and effort movement patterns. Letters basically strengthens the core, improves the balance increases the coordination and decreases stress.
