Hey everyone, welcome to this lecture. What is standard work? Basically, Standard Work is a tool that defines the interaction between man and machine in producing a part or service. It has three components, Standard Time, standard raw materials, or inventory and standard sequence. Standard Work helps in training new operators and reducing the variation in the process. The basic idea of standard work is to make manufacturing methods and or service processes consistent.

ISO 9001 propagates document what you do and do what you document. It forms a basic foundation for any organization by incorporating Standard Work as part of the controlled documentation when to implement Standard Work, Standard Work is simply a way of Life for an employee in any organization. It is to be implemented for any repeatable process. Why standard work by having Standard Work equipment, tools, layout, methods and materials are standardized and thus reduce variation in processes. A detailed process work instruction with all of these can be very useful Standard Work document. That brings us to the end of this lecture.
