Hey everyone, welcome to this lecture, sneak peek into the course, in the previous lecture, you were given a debrief of what was covered in part one of this Lean management program. In this lecture, you will gain a sneak peek of what will be covered in your journey of this course. Let's begin. You begin with an understanding of how to create a continuous flow in your organization. continuous flow is at the heart of lean methodology. Hence, understanding this section is of critical importance.
Up next is learning how to calculate tack time. When you create continuous flow, you will need certain tools if continuous flow is the heart of lean methodology. tack time is the heart of creating continuous flow. We are dealing with a lot of hearts here. Just kidding. You will then learn how to implement a pool system in your organization continuously in flow is only possible when you have the right level of pool implemented in your work environment.
You will continue your learning by understanding what is Kanban Kanban and pool system go hand in glove they are executed together to achieve a lean organization. The next lean tool that you will learn is heijunka i junka is a Japanese term for load leveling. The lean methodology is a proponent of continuous flow or one piece flow, it also considers inventory as waste. Having said that, when you study heijunka you will realize that in order to maintain continuous flow, some level of inventory is indeed needed. This section on heijunka is especially important. If you want to become a truly an expert, you must know something to Casey's of right levels.
Of inventory that are taught in this topic, you then study Standard Work, you will realize that in order to begin real improvements, your business process needs to achieve a minimum level of standardization. The next lean tool is called the visual control is our one of our five primary sensory organs. Lean propagates effective use of visual control in your business process, more to come on this section. The last tool that you will study in this second part of the Lean management program is my favorite. It is termed as the five by analysis. The lean methodology believes in going to the root causes of the problem in my career of more than 15 years in the field of quality, I have not found any other tool as effective as five I analysis to identify any root causes.
