Okay, the next thing we want to talk about is we want to convert from a percentage to a decimal and a decimal to a percentage. And we know that this is our percentage sign. So if we have our percent, say I've got a percentage, and I want to go to a decimal, I multiply that by 0.01. All right, I give you an example here. So 20%, two decimal is 20 times zero dot 01. And here's my answer.
All right, if I want to go the other way, I want to go from a decimal to a percentage. I multiply by 100. And I give me another example here. Point 20 or 0.26. arrow to decimal would be this. So point to zero, decimal equals 20%. All right.
I'll give you a couple of examples on the next slide, give you one or two or three problems, and then we're pretty much done with this. Again, you have my help number. If you have some questions, you can call me or you can send me an email. Okay, I just want to do a few more of these. So we want to go from a percentage to a decimal. So I'm just going to pick one.
Okay, comes into my head three. So 3% What's that in decimal? Well, what did I tell you? You take the three and you multiply. And what does that desktop percentage sign change to zero. dot 01.
So my answer is zero dot 03 decimal, that's 300. All right. So again, I want to take the percentage sign and convert that two, let's say times or multiply it times zero dot 01. And we multiply it with the number in front of the percentage sign. Okay? So let me clear this slide.
We'll do one or two more here. Okay, I'm going to pick one out of my head 38. So we're going to use 38%. What did I tell you to do? All right, we want to multiply 38 times That changes to zero dot 01. So what's my answer?
Zero dot? Three, eight decimal. What? 38 hundredths? Not 38 hundredths. All right, so what have we done?
We've gone from a percentage here to a decimal. Okay, let's do one more. And I'm going to clear the screen off. And again, I'm just going to pick one out of my head. Let's do this one. Yeah, how about let's see 243% I like that one.
All right. Now nothing changes. So what do we do? Right, we multiply 243 times. What's that? What does that equal?
So it's two dot Four, Three. That's my decimal. Again, I've gone from a decimal. Sorry, I'm going from a percentage to a decimal. All right, stop here. Next slide.
I'm going to give you a couple to do on your own. I'm going to show you the answers. And then we're going to go the other way. All right, we went here from a percentage to a decimal, then we're going to go from a decimal to a percentage. And we'll do a couple of those. So let's stop Alright, let's up.
Let's convert percentage to decimals. I've given you some problems right there, stop the recording, do them. And when you're finished doing them, hit the continue button and you'll see the answers. Okay, here are the answers for you, right here. And basically, I've gone through this. So again, take the percentage sign and convert it to zero dot 01 and multiply it by the first number here.
Okay, right there, and right there, and so forth and so on. Okay, any questions? Give me a call, send me an email. We're going on. Now we've converted to percentage to decimal. In the next slide or two, we're going to go from a decimal To a percentage.
Now we want to go from a decimal to a percentage. So now again, I'm just going to pick something out of my head. Got 03. So what do I do? I multiply zero dot 03 times 100. What's my answer?
3%. So I take my number, my decimal number and I multiply it by 100. All right, let's clear the slide off and do a couple more here. I'm 18. I like that. So let's do zero dot one eight, and I want to know what the percentage is.
What do I do? I multiply zero dot one eight times 100. What do I get? What's my answer? 18%? None.
Let's do one more. Let's do two dot 76. What's that? Well, again, two dot Seven, six times 100 equals 276%. If you haven't already noticed, in all these examples, what am I doing? I'm moving the decimal point, two places to the right.
That's it. All right, I've got some examples for you to do on the next slide, then I'll put the answers on. And then we're going on to another topic. All right, here are the problems I'd like you to do right there. So stop the presentation. Take a few minutes, do them.
And when you continue the presentation, you'll see the answers. All right, here are the answers. Again, you have any problems. There's my number, and they should be pretty self explanatory. So there you go. Take a look at them.
I'm sure you can do them. And again, there's my number or you can send me an email. All right, we're off to another subject.
