Alright, so now that we have our name for our app, or our product or our website and so forth, we need to make sure it's actually available. Because until now, we've only been sort of thinking about whether or not it's there, we can actually use it. So what I recommend is name cheap.com. Because a as opposed to go daddy, it doesn't really offer all those upsells and cross sells, or if you're just looking for the domain name, if you already have hosting this is this is really good. One of the options that we were thinking about for the mock ups app was this updater with without the E, then we'll just click Search. And not only will we get these options for the actual domain, because we were just searching for updated to see where it would be available.
So obviously.com or dotnet would be preferred. But then it also gives US multiple other domains, we can click see more. We've got e w I'm not sure what that is.io that is starting to get pretty popular but as you can see, it's it's pretty much the most expensive of the bunch. The cheapest one, I believe was that us and you do need a US residence for registration. And there's the s. And so, there are some some limitations. And you can do some tricks with these domains.
For example, if you go to s i d that he s they used to have this website slides is to have it as SRL id dot s, which was nice now I it seems it redirects to calm she could do a few things release. Again, that I N is is pretty cheap. And it also gives you suggestions for your actual name. If you're if you're not really into updater itself, you could go my updater or best updater super and so for I mean, you could use this, I've seen companies and websites and products use these successfully. So you can and going back up, we can see that for the ones that we actually were looking at the updater.com we can make an offer and this will take us to another site domain agents. And what they will do is they will actually try to contact the owner of that specific domain, right.
So you can open a negotiation for 490 $5 you could obviously offer $1,000 a year Really want the domain, and they will make a guarantee that the offer will be presented to the domain owner. This guarantee comes with an asterisk. So, they will try to really, they will use any and all means to reach the the owner of the domain. If they will not succeed, then they will offer a free credit to make an offer on a second domain name. So, this is sort of a if you really stuck to the name. If not, you can use one of these.
What you could also do is add app that at the end so you could go back for app, this is their domain that they use. So, it's not you shouldn't really think in terms of, Oh, this is the brand and this is what I'm always going to so you Notice as buffer, but it is an app. So it's the domain name is buff buffer app.com. So it's not a problem. If you if your domain isn't available here, you could go, you can be creative, because this is what it's what it's all about. So the next thing I want to talk about is whether or not we want to get another domain which would have been a mock up mock, hopefully.
So that l y, and it could go to register dot L y, a service by Libyan spider. So I guess that makes it a bit legit, I'm not sure. And so they've got all these domains that you can register and for me, most of that fly was was the one that was a really compelling so again, really simple, just search here you you've had your extension selected, and then we can can see it's available. The price is a bit much a bit more than I would have liked to pay. So it's 75 for one year, and then $675 for 10 years, there's sort of a discount on that, as opposed to the $9 or $10. Or even the, what was it the most expensive one was?
It was it was something around 60 I believe. I am not. Yes. So the the I Oh, that was the $60 a year and this one is 75. So it's even more than that. But so, we have to be really creative in the way that we use the our our domain names These are some examples that you can actually use.
So good luck with actually registering your domain for your app or your product or your website.
