Okay, welcome back to blogging masterclass. In this video we're going to talk about using social media to drive traffic to your blog. So social media is a great way to drive free traffic. Not only can you put links on your social media and social media accounts pages back to your blog, but people can also share your blog post, okay, so people can read your blog, they can share it with their friends, it's going to be important that we set up our blog so that it's shareable. I'm going to talk about how to do that. And you also want to make sure that in your blog that you're encouraging people to share Okay, so if you've got a Facebook page, you want to let people know, you know, share this with your Facebook friends, you know, retweet this blog, send this blog to, you know, wherever you want it to be shared on, make sure you have those buttons on your blog.

So the first thing you can do is create the page or profile for your blog specifically, okay, so you can go to Facebook, you can create a Facebook page on the topic that you're writing about your blog and then you can put a link on that Facebook page, back to your blog. Okay, and Facebook is the most popular social networking site. It's always where I recommend that you start. You can also use Twitter. Twitter's a little bit different than Facebook. Here you can post similar messages frequently.

Okay, so Twitter is a place where you can post a lot more than Facebook. Okay, a lot of people use Facebook like Twitter, and they really shouldn't really what you want to do is use Facebook to post more important things but then Twitter somewhere where you can post you know as much as you want, okay. Twitter's designed to where you have followers people want to, you know, constantly hear from you. Okay, you can actually reach a different audience from Facebook to with Twitter because of this. Okay, so you can create a Twitter profile that links back to your blog. You can also create a YouTube channel that links back to your blog as well.

Okay, now traffic. Now video is a great way to get more traffic. Okay, you can get a lot of traffic with video. YouTube videos can go viral very quickly. Just make sure in the video description that you have a link back to your blog, okay, then you can also post videos on your blog to engage your audience, I recommend that you do this okay, I recommend that you have content on your blog that includes video and images. Okay, images and video, keep people's attention a lot more these days people have short attention spans.

So it's definitely a good idea to include some of these things. And then right underneath your video, you can have a link to wherever people wherever you want people to go to buy your product. So just remember, these are the three most popular but there's tons of others. Okay, there's LinkedIn, there's Pinterest. There's all kinds of other social media networks that you can use to link back to your blog. I recommend you start here.

And then you can kind of branch out. You can also put so you can also put social sharing widgets and plugins on your blog directly. Okay, this, these widgets are going to make it easier for visitors to share your blog content and it's going to make it a lot easier to drive. Have more free traffic to your site. Okay, so you can use social widgets for WordPress like slick social share, okay? There's also lockers, share it, share it out Walker's calm, where they've pretty much designed a widget that uses all the different buttons that people can click on.

So if you've ever been to a blog, and you've seen there where it has a, you know, a Facebook button, you can click on to share it. Okay, it's also got, typically a Twitter button, people usually have some sort of Google Plus button. These buttons are going to allow people to quickly share your content, and lockers.com shared lockers calm, it's a great widget that you can use that just has all those share buttons already, you can pick and choose which ones you want to use and add to your blog. And it just makes it a whole lot easier for you. It's going to make your life a lot easier. It's going to get more eyes on your blog, and it's going to put more money in your pocket.

So definitely use these widgets and use social media in conjunction with your blog.
