Hi, welcome back. In this video, we're going to talk about social bookmarking and why you want to use this with your blog. So what is social bookmarking? Well, social bookmarking is essentially sites that provide users a means to bookmark, organize, and share websites and blogs. So these sites don't actually store the content. They don't host their house the content, rather, they simply just link back to your content.
So why would you want to use this? Well, for one, it's going to give your site visitors a way to save your page so they can come back later. Okay, they're also going to be able to share your pages using social bookmarking sites, and they can find your site while browsing other social bookmarking sites. So it's just another place to put your blog. It's another way other than social media to allow users to easily share your sites and just give them a quick way to save it. Okay, so you want people to come back to your site, if somebody reads your article, and they've got to go do something you want them to be able to easily come back to it at any time.
They can finish reading and finish going through the process. Social Bookmarking also helps search engines, find links to your site easier. Okay? So social bookmarking is going to help search engines index your site and rank your site based on popularity. Okay, so the more social bookmarking sites you're on, the more that search engines are going to consider your site and your you know, your blog, popular. Okay, so we want to use social bookmarking for both our site visitors and for the search engines.
And ultimately, it's always for the site visitors because if we don't show up in the search engines, the site visitors aren't going to find this. Okay, so we want to make sure that we're not only showing up on these social bookmarking sites, but we're also leveraging as much as we can to get ranked in the search engines. So here are a couple popular social bookmarking sites Okay, we've got digg.com delicious, calm fark.com and reddit.com Okay, so these are the four most popular. There's tons of others out there you can do some additional research. I recommend you start with Digg. Once you get your site on there, you can go to the other three, and then move on and go to all the other social bookmarking sites as well.
