So Isaac Newton was the first to devise a color wheel in the 17th century. Newton proved that light is composed of different colors by projecting the beam of sunlight through a glass prison. When he arranged the spectrum of hues in a linear band, he noticed that resemblance between the red violet on one end and the blue violet on the other. Newton found that by connecting the two ends of his linear band of circle, a circle was formed that allowed a relationship among the hues to be explored.
