Your dream college could be aim Steli Institute of Medical Sciences pH you, Christian College fellow King George college luck now and so on. Hope you enjoyed our previous three steps in the Discover phase. Hope you are filling the sheets that we made you fill in understanding level of concepts step understanding level of problem solving step understanding current Exam Strategy step, hope you are filling those sheets on a regular basis and getting to know a lot about yourself. And I guarantee you that if you keep doing it on a regular basis, you will get to know a lot about yourself and you will get to know your weaknesses, your strengths.
And once we know the weaknesses, we can work to improve and then take our performance to the next level in this step pitches about improving concepts. I will walk you through the strategies that toppers adopt for understanding concepts. As you know, understanding concepts is the foundation of whatever you study. And unless your concepts are not clear, you won't be able to do well in your problem solving skills, you won't be able to do well in your mock exams, and understanding concepts is the first and the foundational of your need or aims preparation. And in this video, we'll walk you through lots of strategies that students adopt for doing well in this aspect, especially what toppers do differently that their concepts are so strong, and how do they study? How much time do they spend on their study, what sources they follow?
What are their ways of study? So be with us? Stay tuned, watch this video with full focus attention and be very committed and dedicated to what we are teaching here because if you keep doing what we are teaching here, your formance will go up very signal nificantly as a result, your chances of getting into your dream college will be very very high. So be with us. Keep doing what we're teaching here. Thank you and all the very best hi students in this video we will look at strategies for improving concepts.
In this video I will walk you through the methods that toppers adopt for understanding concepts and how they study how much time they spend on theory, what are their methods of understanding concepts so be with us watch this video with immense sincerity, discipline, focus and attention and start applying the strategies that we will teach here because unless you don't apply you can, you don't get any results. So idea is to understand what we teach here and then start applying in your preparation. Key to consensus building is read and understand theory salt problems and attempt mock exams. So three pillars of concept building our first fury, second problem solving and third mock exams. So after you're done reading the theory from your coaching notes from your coaching modules or reference books or after you're done watching a video lecture on any of the chapter, you only know 40% of the concepts, the remaining 40% you get to know upon problem solving by doing the soil examples by doing the simple problems by doing the neat level or age level problems, and problem solving is a very important step and in the next video, we will look at the strategy for problem solving by In this video we look at the strategy how to master fury, but the remaining 20% of the concepts are built by giving mock exams.
Whenever you attempt any exam, you get to know how much you know a particular concept, a particular chapter. And if you know you are able to do well in your mock exams. If you don't know you come back home You do the analysis of the exam and then you get to know what are your weaknesses, what are your weak topics, and then you shift your focus to those topics, you study them. Again, you spend extra time on it, and then improve it. And then in the next mock exam, you make sure that you don't repeat the mistakes. Now, mastering theory is a function of two things time you spend on it and how you study we will look at each of the aspects in this video.
So time spent daily focus as study should be at least six to eight. So this is the trend that we see among students who do well in need or aims every year, students spend at least six to eight hours on cell study apart from the coaching hours. And this time also depends on the class you are in. So recommended focus cell study hours for 11 days, six to seven hours. For 12. It's seven to eight hours for drop here, it's eight to nine hours.
It may sound a long hours, but this much is required because the competition is Very much, you have to work really hard, you have to spend at least six to seven hours on sales study each day in 11, at least seven to eight, in 12, and at least eight to nine and drop here. If you want to get good rank indeed, or Ames and get into your dream college. In the other two rows, we have divided this essentially ours into theory and problem solving. So in 11th, we recommend at least 40% of time on theory and 60% on problem solving. Since 11th, you would be starting your preparation so it will take some time to understand the concepts getting used to these labors and so on. And it becomes important to spend more time on theory, while in 12th, we recommend 30% time on fury and 70% on problem solving interrupt here we recommend 20% on theory and 80% on problem solving.
So 11th recommended focus LCDs are six to seven. These are not much hours, you have to put in at least six to eight hours during your need preparation. If you want to. Get it into your dream College in and theory 411 should be 40% 60%. for problem solving in 12 we recommend at least seven to eight hours of self study apart from your coaching hours 30% to be spent on theory 70% to be spent on problem solving. In drop here we recommend K to nine hours of self study in addition to your coaching hours 30% on theory and 80% on problem solving.
So average time spent on theory by students who perform well is one to three hours daily rest is on problem solving. So if you're spending seven hours each day on your study, and 40% of that will be 2.8 hours. Now, what students do in these 123 hours, they first come back to home and revise what they learned in coaching that day they revise the notes they create handwritten notes, they refer a book for theory they refer coaching modules. Now how you study depends on the study material and method of study. Be Here we have given ranking to the study material that we think is the most relevant and students understand from these materials in the best possible manner according to the rank we have the first time we have given is to the coaching nodes, because you went to coaching you understood the lecture and as a result you created notes out of it.
So, you have already seen those lectures visually and you have written down the important points from that lecture as part of your coaching notes. Hence, we have given this the first priority because we have already gone through that in your classroom and hence, your understanding from this material will be best, the second St repeted coaching modules. These modules are part of the DLP material that we get from different coaching such as residence Allen Akash. In the DLP material, we get the booklet for each of the chapter, and that booklet has Curie on the concepts. So, second priority as part of the source Give to the coaching booklets from repeated coaching specially resonance, Alan Akash, Narayana 30 gift to any video lecture from by Jews and Academy, on YouTube maybe, and for this repeted book. So these are the priority or these are the rankings that we have given to the sources first, your coaching notes.
Second, your repeted coaching modules could be from resonance, Allen Akash, third, any video lecture and fourth repeted book. Now these are the things as per my experience on working with these students, but this could vary for you. You may it may be possible that you may end up understanding the best from buy juice or best from set C or more any other reference books. So follow that for yourself don't follow this ranking blindly. But this has been my experience on working with these students. And but you have to decide what works best for you and keep that source.
But what I will suggest is that don't have more than two sources of Curie. Because what happens is that when we start studying one source, and if we don't understand much, we go to the second source, again, we study and after the second store source, if you're not able to understand, again, that means this not the challenge with the source the challenges with us, because the two sources that you referred, are trying to say the same thing. Both says the same thing, but the style of saying is different. So when you refer the first source, and you didn't get to understand the concepts you refer to the second source, but after you refer the second source, and still you're not sure of the concepts, that means there's no challenge with the source this challenge with us because both source say the same thing. And if you're not able to understand from two sources, then we'll have to see what fundamentally are we doing wrong, we'd have to consult a teacher or you can set up a call with me to discuss why even after Studying from two sources, you're not able to understand the concepts.
Now after that if you go to third source, it won't help much. Rather, when you go to the third source, we start looking at the escape route. We think that there's any problem with the two sources that we followed, but there was no problem with those sources, because other students are able to understand from the sources, but you are not. And if you are not able to understand from those two sources, there is no challenge with the source there is challenge within us and that we have to identify and eliminate as soon as possible. So discuss that challenge with your teacher with your friend or you can set up a call with me and we will try to eliminate it as soon as possible. In spite of going to the third source, set up a call with me, not method of studying again, here we have given the priority to the methods that we think are best.
So first is read once and create handwritten notes. Even though you Created coaching notes in your coaching. He suggests that create handwritten notes after coming back from coaching and these handwritten notes will be the master data. Master Data means that whenever you need to revise that chapter or concept again, you will follow only these handwritten notes. So we suggest that even though you created coaching notes, come back to home and create these handwritten notes either on a4 sheets or on a different register. And these notes will serve as the master data that means, these notes will be used whenever you need to revise that chapter or concept again in the future.
Whenever you need to revise the chapter, before your mock exams, whenever you need to revise the chapter at any point of time in future, you will follow only these handwritten notes, but we v suggested after coming back from coaching even Created coaching notes. do create handwritten notes again, either on a4 sheets or on register. The second priority we give is to watch video lecture and create handwritten notes. If you're watching video lecture from say, by Jews and Academy or YouTube, it's best to create handwritten notes because again, these notes will act as the master data and they will be used in the future whenever you need to revise that concept or chapter again, either before your mock exams or at any point of time in future. So we give a lot of priority to handwritten notes, even though you created coaching notes, but we suggest that please create handwritten notes because whenever you study something, you have to give a visual image to your mind and how that visual image comes by writing it down again.
So you wrote it once in your coaching but when you do it again at home, you again get the visual image and That visual image remains with you for a longer time. And again, when you revise before the mock exams or at any point in future, that visual image gets triggered again. And as a result, your understanding and memory increases. So, so the reason for creating handwritten notes again is to both improve your understanding and sharpen your memory. The third priority we gave is read once and watch the video lecture once. And here.
It's without handwritten notes. But the challenge here would be how will you revise in future will you revise from your coaching notes again in future and will that mental image be strong enough for doing this step we are not sure. Hence we give a lot of priority to the handwritten notes again, and coming back from home and the last test read twice without any handwritten notes. So study material Let me repeat it once again. The first time he gave it to coaching Notes The second is separately Coaching modules. Third, we give to video lecture for capital book.
Again, it may vary from student to student so decide best for yourself what source works best for you, but it shouldn't be more than two. For method of studying we k first read once and create handwritten notes either on a4 sheet or on a different register. The second is watch video lecture and create handwritten notes third became is read once and watch video lecture once in this case you will be revising from your coaching notes again, if that works best for you. You can go with that. And for this read twice, but idea is to create a mental image in your mind and whenever you need to revise the topic again, that mental image should get triggered. And it should lead to better problem solving it should lead to higher marks in your mock exams.
And it should also be to a good rank in your mock exam. So decided What source works best for you what method works best for you and be very consistent chapter to chapter and subject to subject that means if you identify a source for physics then for every chapter you have to follow that source for every chapter you have to follow that method. So, for every subject they will be one or two source that you think are best for understanding concepts of that subject. So, identify those sources and freeze those sources across subject across chapter be very consistent in the sources that you follow and be very consistent in the method you follow. So for Easter strategy for physics priestess strategy for chemistry, freeze the strategy for biology, identify what works best for you in terms of souls and find what works best for you in method, but the sole objective of study is understanding So you have to understand what you read.
And unless you are not understanding, you won't be able to do well in your problem solving, you won't be able to do well in your mock exams. So whatever method works best for you adopt that for understanding time you spent at least six to eight hours on your sensitivity each day in addition to coaching hours. And keep doing this in the next video, we will look at the strategy for problem solving. And I guarantee you that if you keep applying these strategies that we are teaching you here, your preparation will improve so rapidly in just two to three months that your chances of getting into your dream college will be very, very high. So be with us. Stay happy always.
Thank you and all the very best
